Looking for a unique presentation for your organization? Interested in a speaker for your school or class assembly program? Want to schedule a group lecture/tour of the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse where the Trial of the Century took place?
Have one of the country’s foremost experts on the trial be your speaker or tour guide!
Harry Kazman is the author of Lindbergh & Hauptmann: The Trial of the Century, which has been presented annually at the historic courthouse in Flemington, NJ since 1990. When the Trial is performed each fall, Mr. Kazman conducts lecture/tours which examine the case in greater detail, explaining the strategies and unique elements of the case. Using original and replica materials, and authentic newsreel footage, Mr. Kazman leads audiences through the controversies that have mesmerized people for over 70 years.
These lecture tours can be booked throughout the year for groups wishing to visit Flemington, a delightful Main Street town with excellent restaurants, shopping and many nearby attractions.
Mr. Kazman is also available to speak at schools and organizational events. He brings various displays with him to make the historic events come alive to his audiences, and adapts his programs to an appropriate age level for each presentation. For the last couple of years, Mr. Kazman’s assemblies have been scheduled to accompany class studies of a recent book, THE TRIAL, written by Jen Bryant, a former student of Mr. Kazman’s. The book has been a popular selection for young readers in schools, and has been adopted in the curriculum of many middle schools. Mr. Kazman’s program, scheduled before or after the study of the book, acts to enrich the students’ experience and brings a connection to the real lives caught in this momentous event.
A former teacher of Theater and English, Mr. Kazman has written, produced, directed and performed professionally for nearly 40 years. His interest in history and particularly trials led him to develop the Famous Trials Theater Company which is housed in the historic Hunterdon County Courthouse in Flemington, NJ. Since writing The Trial of the Century, Mr. Kazman has been a consultant to various television networks and programs, including CBS 60 Minutes, ABC, NBC, HBO, and The Travel Channel. He has appeared on the E! Entertainment Network, NJN public television, and NEWS12 NJ. In 2001, Mr. Kazman was invited to present The Trial of the Century at the New Jersey State Capital Assembly Chamber.
As a public speaker, Mr. Kazman has presented numerous assemblies in schools throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has also spoken about the Trial to many adult groups and has served as emcee for a variety of organizations. Besides his expertise on the Trial, Mr. Kazman’s background as an educator and performer assures your group of a lively, interesting and informative presentation, with the material suitably adapted to the knowledge and interest level of each audience.
